The recent delivery ceremony of 160 Suzhou Higer high-end pure electric buses to Pakistan marks a significant milestone in the country’s transportation sector. With an order value exceeding RMB 150 million, this initiative represents Pakistan’s first major introduction of pure electric buses.
The event, held in Suzhou Industrial Park, China, saw the presence of distinguished guests, including Mr. Rana, Director General of the Capital Development Bureau of Pakistan, and Amer, General Manager of NTRC Commercial Projects. The ceremony featured speeches from Rana and Amer, expressing high praise for the batch of buses, emphasizing their positive impact on public transportation and residents’ travel.
Prior to the ceremony, the buses underwent testing in Pakistan, demonstrating impeccable performance in appearance and functionality. Higer, having entered the Pakistani market in 2006, has continually innovated to provide buses tailored to local conditions, such as dusty and congested roads. This batch of pure electric buses boasts zero emissions, low operating costs, and minimal noise pollution, contributing to green and low-carbon travel in Pakistan.
The buses, equipped with advanced cathodic electrophoresis technology, ensure an anti-corrosion period exceeding ten years. Moreover, their impressive cruising range of over 250 kilometers enhances their suitability for various routes. Intelligent features like the T-BOX system monitor driver behavior and vehicle operation data in real time, ensuring operational safety and passenger well-being.
As part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), the introduction of these electric buses signifies a new chapter in promoting high-quality development in public transportation. The buses align with the broader goals of CPEC and BRI, contributing to more efficient and environmentally friendly reforms in the transportation sector.
