For the first time ever in Punjab’s history, officials like Tehsildars, Naib Tehsildars, Gurudwaras, and Patwaris in the Rawalpindi division have been given the responsibility to supervise the annual examinations for Intermediate, FA, and FSC. This big step is taken to make sure that the exams are fair and to stop illegal activities like cheating, which are often linked with groups like the booty mafia.
Because there were worries about possible corruption and unfair actions involving teachers during exams, the Punjab government decided to let finance officials oversee examination centers. This means that these officials will now be in charge of separate examination centers in their areas, and they will be directly supervised by assistant commissioners.
But this decision has faced opposition from different teachers’ groups like the Punjab Teachers Union, Punjab SES Teachers Association, and Educators Association. They are worried about Patwaris being involved in the examination centers.
Leaders such as Muhammad Shafiq Bhalwalia, Akhian Gul, and Basharat Iqbal Raja are against this decision. They think that involving Patwaris could cause problems during the exams and might make people doubt the credibility of the whole examination process.
