Saudi Arabia has introduced new ways for pilgrims to travel during the Hajj season this year. Saleh Al Jasser, the Saudi Minister of Transport and Logistics, talked about it after welcoming the first group of foreign pilgrims at Prince Muhammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Medina.
These new ways of getting around, like flying taxis and drones, are meant to make the pilgrimage experience better. Al Jasser said that different companies in the transportation business are working hard to offer the best ways to get around during Hajj in the coming years. He also said it’s important to understand these new technologies and make sure they work well during the Hajj season.
Saudi Arabia wants to be a leader in using these kinds of services, especially during Hajj, when lots of people travel. Last year, they talked about trying out flying taxis during future Hajj seasons. Saudi Arabian Airlines even said they want to use flying taxis to take Hajj pilgrims between King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and hotels in Mecca.
