The Chief Minister (CM) of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, launched the Nawaz Sharif Information Technology (IT) City project in Lahore on Saturday, aiming to provide young people with the latest skills.
At the inauguration ceremony, CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz talked about how Nawaz Sharif started the IT City project, and she proudly mentioned that the first phase was completed in just two and a half months.
She also announced that the 853-acre IT City will be tax-free for the next 10 years. The project will include additional developments like a Knowledge City and a Film City.
Maryam Nawaz explained that several universities will open campuses in the Knowledge City, and the government will support investors by providing necessary facilities. She mentioned that many major IT companies are very interested in the Nawaz Sharif IT City.
Maryam Nawaz emphasized her dedication to financially empowering the youth of Pakistan. She believes that by equipping young people with the right skills, they can significantly contribute to the country’s economy and technological growth.
In her speech, Maryam Nawaz compared the IT developments in India to the potential for similar progress in Pakistan. She questioned why Pakistan can’t achieve the same level of success, expressing confidence that with the right efforts, Pakistan can also experience an IT revolution. She encouraged everyone to work towards this goal, highlighting the importance of education, technology, and innovation for the country’s future.
