The Overseas Employment Corporation, which is part of the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, is set to send around 100 female nurses to a health firm in Malaysia. This move comes in response to the growing demand for qualified nursing staff in Malaysia.
An official from the OEC announced on Thursday that the increasing need for female nurses in Malaysia is largely due to the high-quality work of the Pakistani nurses already employed there. The OEC has now opened applications for these new positions, inviting job seekers to apply.
To qualify for these jobs, applicants must have either a diploma in nursing or a Bachelor of Science in nursing from a recognized institution. Additionally, they need to be registered with the Nursing Council and possess at least three years of relevant experience working in a hospital. Those with specialized training in operating theaters, intensive care units, or pediatrics will be given preference. The age limit for applicants is set at 45 years.
The monthly salary for these nursing positions ranges from RM3,000 to RM4,500. Besides the salary, the health firm will offer various allowances. These include RM1,100 for specialized nurses, RM700 for general nursing, RM400 for those with a degree, and RM800 for post-basic training.
The official also shared that the salaries of confirmed employees will be reviewed each March based on their performance and the market standards. Any salary increase will be applied retroactively from January. Furthermore, employees will receive a one-month bonus for each year of service, which will be payable after completing a two-year contract.
