The Sindh government has announced a new initiative to provide interest-free loans to middle-class families for installing solar energy systems. This announcement was made by Sindh Energy Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah during a recent address. He also highlighted ongoing efforts to ensure the provision of clean water and address various regional issues.
The government’s plan is to electrify 500,000 people annually, focusing initially on providing basic solar systems to very poor households. This move is part of a broader strategy to improve energy access and sustainability in the region.
For those who wish to install solar systems independently, the government will offer interest-free loans, covering the interest costs themselves to make the transition more affordable.
In addition to these measures, there are plans to construct two new grid stations in each district to enhance the energy infrastructure and improve the reliability of electricity supply.
Minister Shah also took the opportunity to extend Eid greetings to the public and urged everyone to remember and honor the martyrs who have sacrificed their lives for the country.
