The Sindh Excise Department recently held an auction where they raised Rs675.4 million by selling 40 premium number plates. The number plate with the highest bid, plate number 1, sold for an impressive Rs100 million. Other notable sales included plate numbers 5, 7, 8, and 9, which were sold for Rs53 million, Rs46 million, Rs41 million, and Rs40 million respectively.
Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon announced that the money raised from this auction will go towards building 2,251 homes for people affected by the recent floods. This initiative is part of the government’s broader effort to support those who have lost their homes due to the natural disaster.
In addition to this auction, the Sindh Excise Department plans to hold a second auction soon. The aim is to raise even more funds to continue the reconstruction and support efforts for flood victims.
These premium number plates come with several special features. They can be personalized to the buyer’s preferences, transferred to others, and customized in different colors, making them highly desirable among buyers.
