Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz launched the “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” housing program, aiming to help low-income families in Punjab who do not own a house. The initiative is designed to provide affordable housing options to the most vulnerable populations, including workers and laborers, giving them the chance to become homeowners.
Under this program, the government has made it easier for families to own a house by offering homes at affordable prices with accessible installment plans. To qualify, applicants must be residents of Punjab, belong to a low-income family earning less than Rs60,000 per month, and be government employees who currently do not own a house.
The cost of each apartment is set at Rs1.5 million, with the government providing a subsidy to make it more affordable. Beneficiaries will only need to pay 40% of the total cost, which can be paid through monthly installments of Rs14,000.
The program initially plans to build over 3,000 homes in each district, focusing on five major cities: Multan, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Sargodha, and Rawalpindi. In Lahore, the first phase will include the construction of 5,000 homes near Raiwind Road.
Interested individuals can apply online through the government portal to benefit from this housing project, which aims to address the housing needs of low-income families and improve their living conditions.
