The National Institute of Maritime Affairs (NIMA) in Karachi, a think tank and a constituent unit of Bahria University, has announced new job openings for 2024, providing significant opportunities for qualified professionals in the maritime sector. NIMA, known for its research contributions to maritime affairs, is inviting applications for the position of Research Fellows, seeking experienced individuals to join its team and undertake research projects on maritime-related issues.
The Research Fellow positions require a Ph.D. in fields relevant to the maritime sector, including Maritime (Ports & Shipping) Management, Maritime Trade and Logistics, Environmental Studies, or related maritime disciplines. Candidates must possess a minimum of five years of research experience in these areas, demonstrating a strong analytical and academic background, along with effective communication and writing skills. Moreover, applicants should have a proven record of successfully supervising and managing research projects within think tanks, universities, or similar institutions. Individuals holding MPhil or master’s degrees with at least 20 years of experience in the maritime field are also eligible to apply, provided their qualifications are from HEC-recognized institutions, either national or international.
Successful candidates will join NIMA on a contractual basis, with an initial contract period of three years that may be extended based on performance.
