The Sindh government has announced plans to introduce electric vehicle (EV) taxis for unemployed youth in the province, offering them on easy installment plans. This initiative aims to provide employment opportunities while promoting eco-friendly transportation.
Senior Minister Sharjeel Memon shared that the government values peace and stability and is open to discussions that contribute to the nation’s progress. He also emphasized the importance of providing innovative solutions to tackle unemployment and environmental challenges.
Earlier, Minister Memon instructed the Secretary of Transport to engage with banks and officials from an EV taxi company based in Karachi. During the meeting, the company presented their eco-friendly electric taxi project and shared details about their installment-based scheme. The project will enable unemployed individuals to own and operate these vehicles, making it easier for them to earn a livelihood.
