The Yaxue road, connecting Xuexiang National Forest Park and Yabuli Ski Resort in China, has gone viral for its musical road sections! As vehicles maintain a steady speed, the friction between tires and the specially designed grooves on the road surface produces melodic tunes.
Four sections of the road play different songs, including The Snow of Harbin—the official anthem of the 9th Asian Winter Games—along with local favorites like I’m Waiting for You in Heilongjiang and Snow of the Northern Frontier.
How does it work? Engineers used advanced computer modeling to craft precise grooves in the road. These grooves act like a vinyl record, with car tires functioning as the needle, creating music through vibrations.
Beyond the cool factor, this innovative design also promotes safe driving—only vehicles moving at the right speed can enjoy the music!
