Singapore has regained its position as the world’s strongest passport, allowing its citizens to travel to 195 countries without a visa or with visa-on-arrival, according to the latest Henley Passport Index.
Japan now holds the second spot, giving its passport holders access to 193 destinations. Several European countries, including France and Germany, rank third with visa-free access to 192 countries.
One of the biggest climbers in the rankings is the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which has secured the 10th position. UAE passport holders can now travel to 185 countries without restrictions, making it one of the fastest-growing passports in terms of global access.
On the other hand, some countries still face severe travel limitations. Afghanistan, Syria, and Iraq remain at the bottom of the list, with their citizens having access to very few destinations without a visa.
The Henley Passport Index ranks passports based on the number of destinations their holders can enter without needing a prior visa. Countries with high rankings often have strong diplomatic ties and stable international relations, allowing their citizens greater freedom to travel.
Singapore’s return to the top position highlights the country’s strong global standing and ease of international travel for its residents. As global mobility continues to change, the rankings reflect how some countries are improving travel access while others remain restricted.
