Pakistan exported 105,690 metric tons of citrus fruits from July to December 2024, earning $30.9 million in revenue. This information was shared by Federal Minister for Commerce, Jam Kamal Khan, during a session in the National Assembly.
According to official data released last month, Afghanistan was the top buyer of Pakistan’s citrus fruits, importing citrus worth $16.72 million in the first half of the fiscal year 2025. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) was the second-largest importer, purchasing citrus fruits worth $3.90 million, while Indonesia secured the third spot with imports totaling $3.30 million.
These three countries—Afghanistan, the UAE, and Indonesia—accounted for the majority of Pakistan’s citrus exports, both in terms of earnings and total volume. The strong demand from these markets highlights the growing potential of Pakistan’s agriculture sector in international trade.
