Divisional Superintendent Pakistan Railway Karachi Athar Riaz inaugurated the train from Karachi Cantt this morning.
Pakistan Railways has restored the Shalimar Express, which was closed on August 27, 2022, after eight months and three days due to previous rains and floods.
The train consists of 19 coaches, including 2 AC Business, 1 AC Parlor, 2 AC Standard and 12 Economy Class along with 1 brake van, 1 power van and 1 restaurant coach.
The train will depart from Karachi Cantt at 6:00 am and will reach Lahore at 11:45 pm on the same date via Hyderabad, Nawabshah, Rohri, Rahim Yar Khan, Khanpur, Bahawalpur, Multan, Sahiwal, Raiwind.
This train will now go to Multan, Sahiwal via Faisalabad instead of its scheduled route.
