Saudi Arabia has imposed restrictions on four items that pilgrims are prohibited from bringing during their Hajj journey. The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has issued strict instructions regarding the ban on carrying certain items during air travel for the guests of Rahman (referring to pilgrims). The ministry has informed pilgrims traveling to Makkah and Madinah that the following items are prohibited on flights:
Plastic bags:
Pilgrims should not bring their belongings in plastic bags because carrying filled plastic bags on the airplane is not allowed. If pilgrims violate this rule, they may face difficulties at the airport.
Bottled water and open liquids:
It is essential for pilgrims not to carry water or any other liquid that may spill during air travel. Airport staff may remove water bottles or similar items from their belongings.
Unpackaged or poorly packaged items:
Any items or substances that are not properly packaged or may pose a risk of spilling or falling out of their packaging are not allowed on the airplane.
Wrapped items in clothing:
Pilgrims should not wrap their belongings in clothing or bring any bags or items wrapped in clothes. Such items are not permitted to be brought on the plane.
It has been reported that Saudi Arabia is in the final stages of preparing for the upcoming Hajj season. The Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, has inaugurated the second phase of exercises for the upcoming Hajj season, involving various departments working for the Ministry and the Guests of Rahman.
He emphasized that the Ministry will undertake another hypothetical exercise before the start of the Hajj season to enhance operational capabilities in all areas. These simulated experiences will provide valuable insights into the operational system and the needs and challenges of the pilgrims, going beyond just transportation and catering to include aspects such as civil defense, catering, and managing potential incidents.
