Usman Arshad, a student from Pakistan, has achieved his dream of performing Hajj by walking an extraordinary distance of 5,400 kilometers from Pakistan to Saudi Arabia. The Pakistan Hajj Mission played a crucial role in helping Usman resolve his visa issue, allowing him to begin his journey. Upon reaching Makkah Mukarramah, Usman received a warm welcome from the Pakistan Hajj Mission, and the Director General Hajj, Abdul Wahab Soomro, honored him with gifts to acknowledge his remarkable accomplishment.
Director General Soomro praised Usman’s extraordinary journey and encouraged Pakistani youth to embrace walking as a habit. Despite initially having only an Umrah visa, Usman’s dream of performing Hajj was made possible through the collaborative efforts of Director General Soomro and the Saudi authorities, who granted him a Hajj visa.
When Usman faced difficulties in obtaining the Hajj visa, he sought assistance from Director General Soomro, who promptly contacted the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Interfaith leaders, and the Saudi authorities to expedite the process. Setting off on his extraordinary journey with just a modest backpack, an umbrella, and reliable trekking shoes, Usman incurred expenses totaling 850,000 and walked an impressive daily range of 35 to 60 kilometers.
Usman expressed his deep gratitude to the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, the Pakistan Hajj Mission, and the Saudi authorities, specifically Director General Hajj, for their invaluable support in acquiring his Hajj visa. His incredible journey began in 2021 when he walked from Okara to the Khunjerab Pass, covering a distance of 1,270 miles.
