A medical team at Prince Muhammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah saved the life of an Indonesian woman pilgrim whose heart had stopped for eight minutes. The incident happened when the pilgrim had a heart attack upon landing at the airport.
The airport’s Health Control Center received an emergency call about the situation. The medical team quickly responded and performed CPR to revive the pilgrim’s heart twice, successfully stabilizing her condition. She was then taken to a hospital where she is now in stable condition.
Since the start of the current annual Hajj pilgrimage season, the Health Control Center at the airport has served a total of 90,104 pilgrims. It has provided preventive services to 87,857 pilgrims and treated 2,218 patients. Among the patients, 29 cases required further medical care at hospitals in the region.
