Marriott International plans to hire 1,500 refugees in Europe and 1,500 refugees in the United States by 2025. The company aims to reach a total of 3,000 refugee hires by 2026. Marriott’s President and CEO, Anthony Capuano, made this announcement at the Tent Partnership for Refugees European Business Summit.

Additionally, they have already hired over 970 refugees in various European properties. Marriott helps refugees by offering skills training and development in the hotel industry. This support empowers them to build a better future for themselves, their families, and their communities. Moreover, some Marriott hotels provide resources like translators, prayer rooms, and assistance with public transportation to support newly resettled refugee employees.
Furthermore, Marriott has launched a careers website to showcase job opportunities for refugees in the United States. They highlighted the story of Ehsanullah Safi and Shah Faisal Safi, who fled Afghanistan and now work at Marriott Bethesda Downtown. Lidia Tomshivska, a Ukrainian immigrant, found employment at Leipzig Marriott Hotel in Germany.
Marriott partners with the International Rescue Committee (IRC) to train and hire refugees. It demonstrates their inclusivity and support for refugees and human rights advocates worldwide.
