To reach a broader audience and promote a message of moderation and tolerance, the live translation of the Arafat Day sermon, a significant event in Islam, has been expanded to include 20 languages. This effort is part of the custodian of the two Holy Mosques Translation Project, which is working towards important goals.
The Deputy General President for Languages and Translation, Ahmed Al-Hamidi, explained that this translation initiative is in line with the agency’s strategic plan for 2024.
The Arafat Day sermon will be translated into multiple languages, including French, English, Persian, Urdu, Hausa, Russian, Turkish, Punjabi, Chinese, Malay, Swahili, Spanish, Portuguese, Amharic, German, Swedish, Italian, Malayalam, Bosnian, and Filipino.
The sermon will be broadcasted through platforms like the Manarat Al-Haramain digital platform, The Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet channels, and ten FM radio stations. This extensive distribution aims to reach a diverse global audience during the Hajj pilgrimage.
