Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan has demanded that Sweden take strong action against the disrespectful act of desecrating the Holy Quran. He called for a thorough investigation into the incident without any interference.
The condemnation comes after a man in Stockholm, Sweden, disrespected the Holy Quran, which has led to widespread condemnation from various countries, including Pakistan, Turkey, Jordan, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Iraq, and Iran. Even the Swedish government itself has condemned the incident and labeled it as an act of Islamophobia.
The Organisation of Islamic Council (OIC), which consists of 57 member states, held an extraordinary meeting in Saudi Arabia and emphasized the importance of collective measures to prevent such acts of desecration. They also stressed the use of international law to combat religious hatred and called on member states to take unified action to prevent future incidents of Quran desecration.
Prime Minister Shehbaz strongly condemned the incident on behalf of the Pakistani government, describing it as a disgusting act. He highlighted the presence of Islamophobia and the hatred faced by Muslims in Sweden, who are a minority in the country. He urged the Swedish government to take decisive action in response to this incident and address the narrative of discrimination.
