In the first half of 2023, the 500 richest individuals in the world saw a significant increase in their wealth. Together, they added a total of $852 billion to their fortunes. On average, each member of this group made around $14 million per day during this period.
Elon Musk, who is the richest person globally, experienced the highest growth in wealth. He added an impressive $96.6 billion to his net worth, bringing his total wealth to $247 billion. This period was the most prosperous half-year for billionaires since the latter half of 2020.
It coincided with a strong performance of the stock market and growing investor enthusiasm in technology stocks, particularly driven by advancements in artificial intelligence (AI).
