On Thursday, it was reported that the Lahore administration has introduced a new rule called “no helmet, no petrol.” This means that motorcyclists must wear helmets in order to buy petrol. The authorities made this decision to prioritize the safety of motorcyclists.
The Deputy Commissioner of Lahore expressed concerns about the large number of people getting seriously injured in road accidents because they don’t wear helmets. Chief Traffic Officer Mustansar Feroze also announced a ban on motorcyclists without helmets from using all roads. As a result of these actions, over the past six months, 810,000 motorcyclists without helmets have faced consequences.
