The newly launched Threads App by Meta has achieved a remarkable milestone, surpassing 90 million signups in just four days. This rapid increase in user numbers shows how popular and in-demand the app is.
Unlike other platforms competing with Twitter, Threads has an advantage in having a well-established infrastructure that can handle such high demand. Currently, Threads operates as an extension of Instagram, where users can only sign up by downloading the app and logging in with their Instagram credentials.
By importing contacts and profiles from Instagram, Threads makes it easier to connect with friends and followers through a convenient “request all” option. However, it is unclear how many users have migrated from Twitter and how many are Instagram users trying out this new feature.
