Lahore Allama Iqbal International Airport has been temporarily closed by the decision of the Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to address the raising concerns of birds striking on the runaway.
The decision has been made to reduce the risk of birds’ collisions with planes during takeoff and landing. According to the notice, flight operations at Lahore Airport will be suspended from 5 am to 8 am for a period of two months. All the international and domestic airlines have been informed and instructed to reschedule their flights accordingly to accommodate the restricted hours.
In addition, precautionary measures have been taken to prioritize the safety of both passengers and aircraft by reducing the potential dangers associated with bird strikes on the runaway. The authorities at the airport are working diligently to ensure the smooth functioning of flight operations during the working hours of the day and mitigate the risks for the safety of passengers, aircraft, as well as birds.
