Imagine going up a really tall communication mast that’s as high as 1,500 feet. Most of us might feel scared to be so high up, but for people like Kevin Schmidt, it’s just a regular part of their job.
Schmidt works for Sioux Falls Tower and Communications, and his job is to climb up these tall masts to change light bulbs. Even though it’s risky, he gets paid a lot, about $20,000 (which is around Rs 16.5 lakh), for each climb. This shows how unique and special his job is.
Here’s a cool video where you can see Schmidt bravely changing a light bulb on top of a TV broadcast antenna. This shows us the interesting and sometimes forgotten world of people who climb tall towers as their job. It’s something they do every day, and it’s really impressive.
