Elon Musk, the head of Tesla, admitted to joking about having a cage fight with Mark Zuckerberg, who leads Meta. This led to more back-and-forth talk between the two.
The disagreement between Musk and Zuckerberg started after Zuckerberg launched a new app called Threads, which became a rival to Musk’s social media platform called X (formerly known as Twitter).
Musk initially said on X that he would fight Zuckerberg, and Zuckerberg responded on Instagram by saying, “Tell me where.” Musk then said that Zuckerberg was avoiding the challenge. He mentioned that Italy’s Colosseum was offered for the fight, but Zuckerberg declined. Musk also suggested fighting at Zuckerberg’s home, but he said that Zuckerberg was busy. Musk asked if there was any place where Zuckerberg would agree to fight.
Later, Zuckerberg said on Threads that he’s moving away from the fight because Musk isn’t serious about it. He said he wants to compete with people who take fighting seriously. Musk called Zuckerberg a “chicken” in response on X.
The CEOs of Meta and X/Twitter had a conversation about having a cage match like in MMA through posts on their platforms. It started when Musk replied to a tweet on June 20, saying he’d be up for a cage match if Zuckerberg was interested.
