When both men and women are employed and making money in a home, the question of whether a husband may take advantage of his wife’s wage arises. Does the woman have the authority to use her husband’s income without his consent?
Can a wife utilize the income from her husband?
Prior to drawing any conclusions, we wish to make the following points:
The spouse is in charge of paying the household bills.
Even if the husband’s parents are indigent, the wife has a greater claim to the husband’s income.
With her husband’s approval, a woman may use his income to pay for household needs. The woman cannot utilize the husband’s money, even for necessities for the home, if the husband forbids it.
Husbands should let and allowed wives to spend their money for home costs while keeping in mind Quranic passages. However, if the spouse forbids it and neglects to take care of home duties, he will be guilty in Allah’s eyes.
Can a Husband make use of his wife’s income?
The lady is permitted to spend and use her money, salary, and property in accordance with Islamic law. In addition, a husband has no legal claim to the money, earnings, or salary.
So, without her permission and will, the husband is not allowed to spend or dispose of the wife’s money.
It is up to the wife to decide whether or not to give her husband money. She is not required to if she chooses not to. The woman cannot be made to pay for the home expenditures because that is only the husband’s duty.
