Aamir Kayani announced his resignation from the PTI’s core membership during his press conference.
He stated that the GHQ and Corps Commander House incident is unfortunate, that Pakistan is in crisis, and that PDM is kind.
Aamir Kayani stated, “I have a close relationship with the Pakistan Army, I am related to Imran Khan, I have not been to Lahore in a long time, we are part of the institution and the state, and my name has also been included in the Mianwali incidents.”
He stated that the events of May 9 affected him personally, that he has never made any statements against the Pakistan Army, that our survival is linked to the army after Allah, and that the young men are giving their testimonies, first and foremost to the army. Are you doing politics because the institutions are involved?
Aamir Mehmood Kayani stated, “I have 27 years of experience with the PTI, I worked continuously with the party until last month, my grandfather and family are army personnel, and the events of May 9 had a significant impact on me.” Yes, the May 9 incident was very painful; May 9 was a national tragedy; I have 8,9 political papers of terrorism written against me; and I joined the Tehreek-e-Insaf.
He claimed that he had not been to Lahore in over a month and had not attended any meetings. Even during the Arab Spring, the army was the first to be attacked. Institutions are important; my name was mentioned in two incidents that occurred in Mianwali; I am deeply sorry for these incidents; it is unfortunate that I had to leave politics after 24 years because of these incidents.
He stated that given the circumstances, he could not be involved in politics. The army has always sacrificed its lives whenever there is a problem. I’m not going to do politics anymore; instead, I’m going to help people with human rights issues.
Aamir Kayani stated that he is withdrawing from politics, that he has given up his life because his family is in the army, that he went to meet Imran Khan on May 9 but did not meet, and that Imran Khan should seek advice from certain people.
He stated that such incidents have made institutions controversial. “I don’t want to act in such a way that Pakistan will be criticized, and I am a part of it,” he said. “I request all leaders to handle the situation with patience, and no one can blame me.” There is no pressure; if there was, it would have gone somewhere; wherever the state buildings are, they should be protected; it was a very concerning and horrifying event.
Aamir Kayani stated, “We all have to stop the stampede at this time, God willing, all political leaders should stop the stampede, our strength is our institutions, which must be protected, and I will not allow it to go beyond that.” Let’s get started.
It should be noted that Aamir Mahmood Kayani was elected MNA from NA 61 on a Tehreek-e-Insaaf ticket. Aamir Mehmood Kayani is one of Imran Khan’s close associates, having previously served as PTI Central General Secretary and North Punjab President.
