Abu Dhabi has introduced the ‘Industrial Talent Program’ to address the growing demand for skilled jobs in the industrial sector. Rashed Abdulkarim Al Blooshi, the Undersecretary of ADDED, aims to attract and enhance skilled human resources in the industry. Over the next five years, it will feature activities like awareness sessions, funded training programs, and incentives. Moreover, the Abu Dhabi Human Resource Authority and the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, will collaborate to ensure the success of this initiative.
The Program is an integral part of Abu Dhabi’s investment of AED 10 billion towards achieving the objectives outlined in the Abu Dhabi Industrial Strategy (ADIS). The strategy’s goals encompass doubling the size of the manufacturing sector to AED 172 billion. And creating over 13,600 skilled jobs, and increasing non-oil exports to AED 178.8 billion by 2031.
Arafat Al Yafei, IDB’s Executive Director, stressed talent development’s importance for Abu Dhabi’s growth and smart economy. He highlighted the need for businesses to enhance their capabilities in advanced and digitized industries to remain competitive.
Moreover, the program will prioritize sectors like food manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, electronics, chemical manufacturing, and transportation. Furthermore, it will address the supply side of the industrial transition, and ensure a balanced supply and demand.
