The government has given its permission for the person who will be in charge of Pakistan’s national airline, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA). The chosen person is Air Vice Marshal (Retd.) Muhammad Amir Hayat.
The government talked about this choice in a meeting and everyone agreed. The position of the CEO of PIA had no one in it for about 1.5 years. The prime minister didn’t like the idea of the CEO working for three years.
So, they decided to hire the CEO for just one year at first. After one year, they will look at how well the CEO did, especially because they’re also trying to sell parts of the airline to private companies.AVM Amir Hayat was in charge of PIA before, even though it was just for a short time.
