Hardik Pandya shared his view that Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan took a cautious approach in their batting, avoiding risky shots.
Despite a strong start, Pakistan lost their opening batsmen, and then Babar Azam (50) and Mohammad Rizwan (49) tried to rebuild with an 82-run partnership.
However, after this partnership, Pakistan’s innings crumbled, and they were bowled out for 191 runs.
In an interview with Star Sports after India’s seven-wicket victory over Pakistan, Pandya noted that Babar and Rizwan played conservatively, which allowed India to maintain control of the game.
Pandya said, “Babar and Rizwan seemed to be playing it safe. They avoided taking risks, so we always felt in control of the game. The pitch didn’t favor bowlers, and they didn’t attempt aggressive shots against us. This allowed us to build pressure with dot balls. When two players have a similar approach and one gets out, it creates opportunities.”
These sentiments were echoed by Mohammad Amir, who shared similar views to Hardik Pandya.
