When discussing batting issues, Babar pointed out Pakistan’s inability to establish a substantial partnership.
Despite a promising start with the opening pair of Imam-ul-Haq and Abdullah Shafique, who achieved a notable 134-run partnership, Pakistan struggled to maintain momentum and lost crucial wickets at regular intervals.
The team managed to score 305 runs, falling short of the massive 368-run target set by Australia.
In their batting innings, the Australian team displayed dominance by setting a formidable total of 367 runs, the highest score ever recorded against Pakistan in the World Cup. Despite Shaheen Afridi’s remarkable performance with five wickets, Pakistan couldn’t contain the Australian onslaught, resulting in a 62-run defeat.
