Babar Azam a prominent batsman from Pakistan, has achieved the top position in the International Cricket Council (ICC) One Day International (ODI) batsmen rankings, displacing Shubman Gill to the second spot.
This change is a result of Shubman Gill’s absence from the ongoing ODI series against South Africa. Babar Azam has claimed the leading position with an impressive 824 rating points, while Gill closely follows in second place with 810 points.
Babar Azam’s recent performances have showcased his prowess in the limited-overs format, contributing significantly to his ascent in the rankings.

On the flip side Babar Azam faced a drop in the Test batsmen rankings following a relatively less successful performance in the first Test against Australia.
Despite this he still holds a respectable fifth position with 801 rating points. Meanwhile, Kane Williamson, the New Zealand captain, continues to maintain his leadership in the Test batsmen rankings with an impressive 864 rating points.
