The Council of Representatives of Bahrain announced that the Israeli ambassador to Bahrain has left the country, and the Bahraini ambassador to Israel has returned.
They have also suspended economic relations with Israel in support of the Palestinian cause and the rights of the Palestinian people. This is the first such move by one of Israel’s Gulf Arab allies.
Bahrain and Israel established diplomatic relations in 2020 under the US-brokered Abraham Accords, which aimed to normalize relations between Israel and Arab countries.
