Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko arrived in Pakistan on Tuesday for a three-day official visit. He was given a warm welcome at the Prime Minister’s House, where a ceremonial guard of honour was held in his honour. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif personally received him, and both national anthems were played during the formal ceremony.
A contingent of the Pakistan Armed Forces presented the guard of honour, which President Lukashenko reviewed. Following this, the two leaders introduced their delegations and moved on to hold official talks.
The discussions are expected to focus on strengthening bilateral ties and exploring new areas of cooperation. Several agreements and memoranda of understanding (MoUs) are also likely to be finalized during this visit.
In a symbolic gesture of friendship, President Lukashenko planted a sapling in the lawns of the Prime Minister’s House. This act reflected the positive tone of the visit and the shared commitment to building a stronger relationship between the two nations.
Earlier, Prime Minister Sharif, along with members of his cabinet, welcomed President Lukashenko at Islamabad airport, emphasizing the importance of this visit.
The visit aims to enhance diplomatic and economic ties between Pakistan and Belarus. It reflects both countries’ commitment to working together for mutual benefit, strengthening their partnership, and exploring opportunities for collaboration in various fields.
