On March 31, 2023, the President’s House in Islamabad hosted the second BIZNET Diversity and Inclusion Recognition Awards ceremony to recognize individuals and groups that have made remarkable contributions to promoting a more inclusive and equitable society.President Dr. Arif Alvi presented the Excellence Award to Jazz CEO Aamir Ibrahim and commended Jazz for its various DEI projects, particularly the ones that aim to empower women via digital platforms.
President Alvi addressed the audience and emphasized the urgent need for women to be financially included in order to turn 50% of the country’s population into a productive labor force.He asserted that the quickest way to empower women was to help them use information technology to promote their startup enterprises. Pakistan’s president commended the organizers for their ambitious goal of increasing the number of women working in the country. He was appreciative of the initiatives taken by organizations to have a good influence by taking the appropriate steps.An annual event named BIZNET aims to encourage entrepreneurship among young and ambitious business brains and to promote new firms.
It works to promote Pakistan’s innovative, artistic, and entrepreneurial cultures, which are crucial to the growth and advancement of the nation’s economy. BIZNET recognizes Pakistan’s most successful start-ups in a range of categories, including social impact, innovation, and growth potential. The BIZNET2023 awards, whose theme this year was “Supporting Diversity, Inclusion, and Pakistan Startups,” attracted participants from all walks of life.
The awards were organized by Changing Hub and Women Business Network in partnership with a wide range of other business organizations and national industry experts.
