Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has decided to retire from T20 Internationals following India’s victory in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, where they defeated South Africa in the final on Saturday. Jadeja expressed his heartfelt farewell on Instagram, thanking everyone and expressing his pride.
“With a heart full of gratitude, I am bidding farewell to T20 internationals. Like a dedicated horse running proudly, I have always given my best for my country and will continue to do so in other formats,” he wrote. Reflecting on the World Cup win as the highlight of his T20I career, he thanked his supporters and concluded with a patriotic “Jai Hind.”
Jadeja started his T20 International journey against Sri Lanka in 2009 and has played 74 matches since then. He has scored 515 runs and taken 54 wickets during his career. His contribution to the team has been immense, and his retirement marks the end of a memorable era in his cricketing journey. Despite stepping away from T20Is, Jadeja reassured his fans of his commitment to continue representing India in other formats.
