Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), in partnership with Careem announced that residents of Dubai can enjoy free Careem BIKE rides. The offer allows for unlimited trips, as long as each individual ride does not exceed 45 minutes.
World Environment Day
This offer is valid on Saturday 10th June, 2023 to mark the World Environment day, celebrated on 5th June Annually. It promotes sustainable transportation and Dubai’s vision of becoming a bicycle friendly city. This partnership aligns with the RTA’s strategy and commitment to playing a leading role in sustainability to address environmental concerns.
On Saturday, June 10th, customers can take advantage of the free rides by accessing the Careem app. Simply select the “BIKE” option in the “GO” section on the home screen. By choosing the “One Day” pass and entering the code “FREE,” users can enjoy a 24-hour access period. While participants will be asked to provide their card details, no charges will be incurred.
The RTA reaffirms its dedication to participating in global events and promoting World Environment Day. By encouraging individuals to reduce carbon emissions and embrace sustainable modes of transportation, the initiative fosters healthier habits and promotes flexible mobility options for leisure and exercise.
Careem proudly supports this initiative by offering free bike rides, aiming to encourage both residents and tourists in Dubai to choose sustainable transport for their various journeys. It provides an opportunity to explore the city while contributing to environmental preservation.
Careem BIKE has made a significant impact by reducing over 2.5 tons of CO2 emissions, since its launch in 2020. This reduction is equivalent to the emissions of 713 cars throughout the year. Furthermore, Careem BIKE encourages more customers to use the service. By offering companies the option to offset carbon emissions through bulk subscriptions for their employees or customers.
Careem BIKE stations can be found across 186 locations in Dubai. It includes popular areas such as City Walk, Business Bay, Dubai Media City, Karama, Al Mankhool, and Kite Beach. To access the service, customers can download the latest version of the Careem app from the Apple Store, or Google play.
