Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi takes Notice of Ihsanullah’s Incorrect Elbow Diagnosis

Mohsin Naqvi, the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), has expressed strong dissatisfaction and concern over the mishandling of young fast bowler Ihsanullah’s injury by the board’s officials and medical team.

Ihsan, a promising 21-year-old fast bowler, gained recognition for his impressive performance in last year’s Pakistan Super League, showcasing his pace and skill.

He further solidified his potential by participating in three T20 matches against Afghanistan in Sharjah and two ODIs against New Zealand on home ground.

Following the series against New Zealand, Ihsan suffered an elbow injury that prevented him from participating in subsequent important tournaments, including the Asia Cup and World Cup.

Compounding his problems, an inaccurate diagnosis of his injury and a poorly executed surgery in Lahore have hindered his recovery process, leaving him still not fully healed.

According to a report, the initial diagnosis of Ihsan’s injury was conducted by a senior doctor from the PCB’s medical panel. This incorrect diagnosis led to valuable time being wasted on attempting rehabilitation without resorting to surgery.

After undergoing a surgery that was botched at a private hospital in Lahore, doctors from his PSL franchise, Multan Sultan, determined that he urgently needed to consult a specialist in the UK for proper treatment.

In response to this situation, the franchise owner, Ali Tareen, has obtained permission from the PCB to send Ihsan to London for further consultation and treatment.

Mohsin Naqvi is upset and believes that the responsibility for the mishandling of Ihsan’s injury lies with the board officials and the medical panel.

A source close to the PCB stated, “Mohsin Naqvi is very upset about this situation. Chances are that some of the officials responsible for supervising Ihsan’s treatment will find themselves out of jobs very soon.”

Ihsan had previously impressed everyone with his pace and performance against Afghanistan in Sharjah, finishing with six wickets in three matches while maintaining an impressive economy rate.

The mishandling of Ihsanullah’s injury by the PCB’s officials and medical team has raised serious concerns about the board’s management of player health and well-being.

Mohsin Naqvi’s strong reaction underscores the importance of proper medical care and timely intervention for players, highlighting the need for improved protocols and accountability within the organization to prevent similar incidents in the future.
