Pakistani car manufacturer Dewan Farooque Motors has announced a significant step forward in the automotive industry by deciding to start producing EVs in August. This move aligns with the global shift towards more sustainable and eco-friendly transportation options.

DFML has partnered with Eco-Green Motors Limited to manufacture EGML’s electric vehicle model, the Honri-VE.

This partnership aims to leverage the strengths of both companies to bring high-quality electric vehicles to the Pakistani market. DFML highlighted that this initiative will position them as a leading electric vehicle manufacturer in Pakistan, contributing to the country’s efforts to reduce carbon emissions and promote green technology.

The company plans to begin production of the Honri-VE in August 2024, a timeline that underscores DFML’s commitment to quickly entering the EV market. They officially communicated this development to the Pakistan Stock Exchange on Thursday, signaling their readiness to meet the growing demand for electric vehicles in the region.

The introduction of the Honri-VE is expected to offer Pakistani consumers a modern and environmentally friendly transportation option. This move also aligns with the government’s vision of promoting sustainable energy solutions and reducing the nation’s carbon footprint. By manufacturing electric vehicles locally, DFML aims to support the domestic economy and create job opportunities in the automotive sector.

In addition to their foray into electric vehicles, DFML has also announced the resumption of commercial production for their specialized KIA commercial vehicle, the KIA ‘SHEHZORE’. This vehicle has been popular in the Pakistani market for its durability and utility. The company stated that the launch event for the new KIA ‘SHEHZORE’ is scheduled for June 4, 2024. This marks an important milestone for DFML as they continue to expand their product lineup and cater to a diverse range of consumer needs.

DFML’s dual focus on both traditional and electric vehicles reflects a strategic approach to growth and innovation. By embracing the latest advancements in electric vehicle technology while continuing to offer trusted commercial vehicles, DFML aims to strengthen its position in the competitive automotive market.

The company’s efforts to produce electric vehicles and the upcoming launch of the KIA ‘SHEHZORE’ indicate a promising future for DFML. As the world moves towards more sustainable transportation solutions, DFML’s initiatives are poised to make a significant impact on the automotive landscape in Pakistan.
