BYD, a major Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer, is planning to build a new factory in Karachi through a partnership with Mega Conglomerate Pvt. The factory is expected to be up and running by mid-2026, marking BYD’s entry into Pakistan’s expanding electric vehicle market.
The company has plans to introduce three different models initially, including an SUV and a sedan, with more battery-electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles to be launched afterward. In addition to the factory, BYD will also be opening its first showrooms in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad by the end of 2024.This expansion is part of BYD’s broader global strategy to strengthen its presence in emerging markets like Pakistan.
