Test cricketer Fawad Alam has responded to recent rumors about his retirement from Pakistan cricket. Reports on Tuesday suggested that he was planning to end his international career and explore opportunities in the United States.
However, Fawad Alam has strongly denied these retirement rumors. He clarified that he hasn’t made any final decisions about retiring and that the rumors are not true.
“I want to make it clear that I haven’t decided to retire at this point. I haven’t left Pakistan cricket, and retirement isn’t something I’ve chosen. I’m focused on playing domestic cricket, and I plan to keep playing for the next one to two years, or as long as my professional journey continues,” Fawad Alam explained.
In the past year, Alam played in three Test matches against Australia, scoring 33 runs in four innings. He also played in a single Test against Sri Lanka, contributing 25 runs. Afterward, he was not included in the Test squad.
Throughout his career in Pakistan’s national team, Fawad Alam has played in 19 Test matches, scoring a total of 1011 runs with an average of 38.88. He has achieved five centuries and two fifties.
