A foreign couple traveling through Pakistan by bicycle faced a distressing incident in Sindh’s Thatta district. Kowalczyk Jakub Tomasz from Poland and Scantamburlo Marie Elisabeth from France, who had already cycled through ten countries, were robbed near the Sajawal bypass. During the incident, the couple’s mobile phones were stolen.
The couple had been exploring historical sites in the region and was staying near the Makli graveyard when the unfortunate event took place. Local police promptly registered a First Information Report (FIR) and have started an investigation to identify and apprehend those responsible for the robbery.
Sindh’s Home Minister, Ziaul Hassan Lanjar, has taken notice of the incident and directed authorities to take immediate and decisive action to catch the culprits. The provincial government has expressed concern over such incidents and is urging law enforcement agencies to ensure the safety of tourists traveling in the area.
Unfortunately, similar incidents involving foreign tourists have occurred in Karachi, raising concerns about the security of visitors in Sindh. The authorities aim to restore confidence among tourists by improving safety measures and taking swift action against those who target travelers.
