Haleon, global consumer healthcare powerhouse, has taken a significant step in revolutionizing pain management announcing the launch of the Haleon Pain Management Institute (HPMI). Pakistan has been chosen as the launch country for this global initiative – an indication of the importance of the country and the region at large, in advancing healthcare solutions.
Indeed the inaugural ceremony heralded a major milestone in Haleon’s mission to transform global standards in pain management with the HPMI designed to empower healthcare professionals with cutting-edge resources, education and tools to enhance patient outcomes.
The launch event was attended by top global and local healthcare stakeholders, helmed by Farhan Haroon, CEO of Haleon Pakistan, alongside international attendees including Charles Leslie, Global Business Lead for Pain Portfolio & Systemics (Panadol and Advil) at Haleon, and Meltem Asim, Area Expert Marketing Director at Haleon.
A key feature of the initiative was the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with prominent organizations, including MARHAM, OLADOC, and the Pakistan Association of Family Physicians (PAFP). These partnerships aim to strengthen healthcare through education campaigns, skill enhancement for healthcare professionals, behavioral change initiatives, and improved public access to pain management resources. By fostering collaboration, Haleon seeks to encourage innovation, advance research, and elevate the quality of pain management services in Pakistan and beyond.
The event’s highlight was a keynote address by Dr. Bart Morlion, Director of the Leuven Centre for Algology and Pain Management. Titled “Understanding & Accepting Pain at Every Stage of Life,” Dr. Morlion’s presentation explored the complexities of pain across life stages and emphasized the need for customized management strategies.
With the launch of the Haleon Pain Management Institute, Haleon is poised to set new benchmarks in healthcare. This groundbreaking initiative promises to bring hope to millions and improve the global landscape of pain management.
