Pakistan’s medium-pace bowler Hasan Ali achieved the milestone of 100 wickets in One Day International (ODI) cricket during a World Cup match against New Zealand in Bengaluru. He reached this achievement by dismissing New Zealand’s opener Devon Conway for 35 runs in the 11th over of the innings. It took Hasan Ali 66 matches to reach this milestone.
Notably, Hasan Ali is the 22nd Pakistani bowler to reach the 100-wicket mark in ODIs. The legendary left-arm bowler, Wasim Akram, leads the list with 502 wickets in 356 matches. Shaheen Shah Afridi also reached the 100-wicket mark in Pakistan’s previous match against Bangladesh in Kolkata.
It’s worth mentioning that some other bowlers from different countries achieved 100 ODI wickets more quickly than Hasan Ali:
- Nepal’s Sandeep Lamichhane accomplished it in 42 matches.
- Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan achieved the milestone in 44 matches.
In the category of pacers (fast bowlers), the fastest to reach 100 ODI wickets are:

- Mitchell Starc from Australia, reaching it in 52 matches.
