As the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) reveals the latest outcomes of the 2024 Elections, a flurry of activity ensues across the nation as political parties absorb the unfolding narrative of triumphs and setbacks.

Each announcement from the ECP alters the political landscape, providing a snapshot of Pakistan’s evolving democratic journey. Here’s a breakdown of the current scenario in the National and Provincial Assemblies, based on the ECP’s declared results:

National Assembly Overview:

  • Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) secures 62 seats.
  • Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) clinches 50 seats.
  • Other parties including Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam Pakistan (JUI-P), Muttahida Qomi Movement Pakistan (MQM), Pashtoonkhwa National Awami Party Pakistan (PNAPF), Pakistan Muslim League (PML), and Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) collectively claim 18 seats.
  • Independent candidates emerge victorious on 90 seats.

Punjab Assembly Snapshot:

  • PML-N dominates with 123 seats.
  • Independent candidates also secure 123 seats.
  • Other parties such as PPPP, Pakistan Muslim League, Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party, and Tehreek Labbaik Pakistan, along with a lone independent candidate, collectively hold 17 seats.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Overview:

  • PML-N captures 5 seats.
  • PPPP, JUI-P, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), PTI-P, and ANP together clinch 16 seats.
  • Independent candidates emerge as the majority with 85 seats.

Sindh Assembly Situation:

  • PPPP dominates with 83 seats.
  • MQM-P and GDA secure 21 and 2 seats respectively.
  • Independent candidates hold 14 seats.

Balochistan Assembly Status:

  • PPPP secures 7 seats.
  • Other parties including JI, JUI-P, PML-N, BNP-A, BAP, ANP, and NP, along with independent candidates, collectively hold 24 seats.

These results paint a dynamic picture of Pakistan’s political landscape, with diverse representation across various parties and independent candidates. As the dust settles, attention now turns towards coalition-building and the formation of government bodies to steer the nation forward.
