How UAE Expats can apply for a 30-day eVisa for Oman – Cost, Process and Other Details

UAE-based expatriates planning to travel to Oman can apply for an eVisa that allows them to stay in the country for up to 30 days. The visa is called the GCC Resident Visa and is issued by the Royal Oman Police (ROP).   1. Create an account on the Oman eVisa platform Evisa. ROP. Gov
  2. Select the visa category
  3. Fill out the GCC Resident Visa application
  4. Upload the required documents
  5. Confirm the visa application
  6. Pay for the visa once it is approved.

Account Registration

  1. Create an account on the Oman eVisa platform. Evisa. ROP. Gov
  2. Visit the official Oman eVisa website and click on Apply for Tourist Visa.
  3. Then, Click on Register as New User and enter your full name, email address.
  4. Create and confirm a password, mobile number, date of birth, gender, and nationality.
  5. Enter the captcha code and click Register.
  6. You will then be asked to enter the One time Password (OTP) sent to your registered email address.

Select your Visa Category

  1. Once you enter the Oman eVisa platform dashboard.
  2. Click on Apply for Visa and then click on Apply for Unsponsored Visa.
  3. Select your nationality from the drop down menu, select yes if you are resident in a GCC country, and select the country.
  4. Click Next and scroll down and select 29A GCC Resident Visa.
  5. Click on Apply online here.
  6. Click Ok.

Fill out the GCC Resident Visa application

Enter the Following information

  • Applicant’s full name
  • Country of birth
  • Passport number
  • Place of birth
  • Nationality
  • Passport issue and expiry date.
  • This also includes your occupation, mother’s name, and marital status.

Required Documents

Upload the required documents.

  • It includes a copy of your valid UAE residence, Visa, passport photo, valid passport copy, and Emirates ID copy.
  • The residency permit and passport must have a validity of at least six months.
  • Once that is done, click Next.

Confirm the visa application

After filling out all the necessary details, confirm the details in the visa application and submit the application.

Pay for the Visa

Once the application is approved, you will be notified by the Oman eVisa platform via email with a link to pay for the visa fee.

Eligibility for the GCC Resident Visa

This visa is specifically for residents who are not eligible for visa-free travel. Over 100 nationalities are eligible for visa on arrival. However, if you are not eligible, you can apply for the GCC Resident Visa for Oman. There are over 30 professions eligible for the eVisa, and you can find the complete list on the Oman eVisa platform. If your profession is not on the list, you must apply for a sponsored tourist visa from an authorized travel agency. The list is as follows:

Duration of GCC Resident Visa for Oman

The GCC Resident Visa allows you to stay in Oman for up to 30 days. It is important to note that this visa is not renewable. If you wish to stay in Oman for a longer period, you will need to leave the country and re-apply for a new visa.

Processing time

While the processing time for the GCC Resident Visa is typically four to five working days, the exact duration may vary based on each application’s details. Once your application is approved, you will receive an email from the Oman eVisa platform with a link to pay for the visa fee.

Additional details

In case your application is rejected, you will receive an email from the Oman eVisa platform. You will need to apply for a sponsored tourist visa through an authorized travel agency.

It is important to note that the GCC Resident Visa is not renewable. If you wish to stay in Oman for a longer period. You will need to leave the country and re-apply for a new visa.
