Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during a telephone conversation told MD IMF Kristalina Georgieva that he would send her a gift of mangoes from Pakistan. The Prime Minister expressed his desire to send superior-quality Pakistani mangoes as a gesture of respect and appreciation.
Shehbaz Sharif also expressed his admiration for the excellent leadership of the MD IMF and her compassion towards the deprived communities. He also expressed his pleasure for the assistance provided by Pakistan confessing that words are insufficient to express his gratitude.
After Prime Minister’s meeting with MD IMF in Paris, Shehbaz Sharif informed the finance minister who worked tirelessly with the economic team to address concerns raised by the IMF. The efforts played a crucial role in finalizing the IMF agreement and in facilitating consensus between the involved parties. As a consequence of these struggles, a $3 billion standby arrangement was achieved.
