Shoaib Akhtar was clearly disappointed after Pakistan lost to India by six wickets in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. This defeat has left Pakistan with almost no chance of making it to the semi-finals, adding to the frustration of fans and former players.

The former fast bowler, known as the ‘Rawalpindi Express,’ did not hold back his feelings. In a video that quickly went viral, he expressed his disappointment with the team’s performance. He even said that if he wasn’t getting paid to talk about Pakistan cricket, he wouldn’t even bother discussing it.

Shoaib pointed out that he has been analyzing Pakistan’s cricket problems for years, yet nothing has changed. According to him, the same mistakes keep happening, and the team does not seem to learn from its past failures.

His reaction reflects the emotions of many Pakistan cricket fans who are upset with the team’s repeated losses, especially against India.

Pakistan has struggled against India in major ICC tournaments, and this latest defeat has once again led to debates about the team’s performance and management. Fans expected a strong fight, but Pakistan failed to deliver in both batting and bowling.

Virat Kohli’s brilliant century and India’s disciplined bowling made things difficult for Pakistan. Saud Shakeel’s fifty was one of the few positives, but it wasn’t enough to put up a challenging total. Bowlers like Shaheen Afridi and Abrar Ahmed tried their best, but India’s batting lineup easily chased the target.

Shoaib Akhtar’s frustration highlights the disappointment among cricket experts and fans. Many believe that Pakistan needs major changes in its strategy and approach to compete at the highest level.

With only one group match left, Pakistan’s chances of qualifying now depend on other teams’ results. However, even if they somehow make it to the semi-finals, their overall performance in the tournament has raised serious questions about the team’s direction.
