Asif Bashir, a volunteer from Peshawar, Pakistan, has earned immense praise from Indian ministers for his remarkable bravery during the Hajj pilgrimage in Makkah.
Bashir, who works as a database supervisor at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, showed extraordinary heroism amid a severe heatwave.
Bashir’s actions saved the lives of around 26 pilgrims, including 17 from India. He provided essential help by giving water, administering life-saving medicine, and carrying unconscious pilgrims for several kilometers.
His selfless efforts did not go unnoticed; Indian authorities in Saudi Arabia have formally recognized his exceptional courage and compassion.
Bashir’s bravery and dedication during such a challenging time have made him a celebrated hero, crossing borders and earning respect from people in both Pakistan and India.
